LTG (R) Robert B. Flowers Scholarship
PURPOSE
The LTG Robert B. Flowers 12 Series Regimental Scholarship is a memorial to the lifelong dedication, commitment and steward of the Engineer Profession within the Engineer Regiment. Open to ALL 12 Series Enlisted and Officer, the applicants Sponsor must be a member of the Sapper Association and Sapper Tabbed from the Sapper Leader Course, FLW, MO. The scholarship provides financial assistance to qualified applicants in order to further their education in the Engineering field. The Scholarship Committee seeks to award a scholarship to applicant displaying the potential for a degree in higher education, whether technical, university or professional. Each year the Scholarship Committee will evaluate the scholarship applicants and select the most outstanding submission to be awarded the LTG Robert B. Flowers Scholarship. LEGACY
LTG Robert B. Flowers was the driving force behind the Sapper Tab, he was a Soldiers Soldier often attending training at all hours of the night as the Commanding General of the Maneuver Support Center, Fort Leonard, Missouri. His contributions to the Sapper Leader Course and development of thousands of Sappers not only enhanced the Engineer capabilities on the battlefield, but increased the Esprit De Corp of the men and women, competing for the Sapper Tab and within the Engineer Regiment.
SCOPE
Provide financial grant to students who plans to attend an accredited college, university, or higher technical trade school. Scholarship award funds are to assist with academic expenses at the attending University/School and will be disbursed directly to the University/School to assist with tuition, books, fees, supplies, room and board.
The scholarship fund is supported by LTG (R) Robert B. Flowers, family, friends and public donations. The number of scholarships to be awarded annually is two. The total value of scholarship is $5,000 and will be distributed to two recipients in the amount of $2,500. Recipient must complete all documentations by him or herself..
FUNDING
ELIGIBILITY
* Applicants must be a qualified child or spouse of a 12 Series member of the Engineer Regiment, Sapper Association Member Enlisted or in the Grade of O2 to COL. Applicants Sponsor must be Sapper Tabbed!
Qualified child is defined as an unmarried child of a 12 Series (Enlisted / Officer) (included those legally adopted) who are under the age of 24 for the entire academic year.
Qualified Spouse is defined as the person legally married to the 12 Series member and not remarried at the time of application for the scholarship.
Gold Star Family Member of 12 Series Killed in Action or Training Exercise; This includes Active Duty, National Guard, Reservist's, Sapper Tabbed Marines Combat Engineers who graduated from the Sapper Leader Course on Fort Leonard Wood and Veterans who have graduated from the Sapper Leader Course at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.
Applicants who receive the Falaniko Scholarship are not eligible to apply for The LTG Robert B. Flowers Scholarship in the same year.

Application
REQUIREMENTS
Applicant must write one page essay in his / her own words on how he / she is "Making A Difference" in the lives of others and their community through positive leadership. Must submit grade card, be of sound character in and out of school and provide a letter from the volunteer coordinator indicating they currently involved in community service with a credible charitable organization. In addition must be attending an accredited academic institution. See Scholarship Application for Additional Requirements.
